(c) W Bingham‘s notebook Diary of a visit to France with notes and observations of charges at hotels, altered character of population, Bonaparte’s popularity, the disorder of French finances, etc. (d) W Bingham’s bills and notes in London listing places to go, people at dinner, etc. (e) Letters from W Miles, Mr Forsyth (about wines), J H Rigby, George Clarke, Sir John Hort, Henry Grenville, Lord Lansdowne, R Spencer, and others to W Bingham. (f) Copies of letters from Lord Ashburton to Lord Aberdeen during the negotiation of the Webster-Ashburton Treaty, 1842. (g) Correspondence including letters from Albert Gallatin (about the Canadian boundary and navigation of the St Lawrence, United States finance and politics, westward expansion, commerce and prosperity), Josiah Quincy, James Tyler (introducing the president of William and Mary College), Henry Clay, Daniel Webster (one about the Treaty and the other introducing George Ticknor Curtis).
