The collection includes a copy of the Public letter received from India, No.18 of 1876, dated 31 March 1876; and a copy of the Public letter received from India, No.57 of 1876, dated 11 September 1876, seeking the Secretary of State's views regarding the position of the Commander-in-Chief of Her Majesty's Naval Forces in India in connection with the Imperial Assemblage held at Delhi in 1877. Also includes the Warrant of Rank and Precedence of persons holding appointments in the East Indies, dated Balmoral 18 October 1876, Sign Manual Victoria Reg & I, on parchment. The cover sheet has been incorrectly bound in the middle of the collection.
