Extract from the Proceedings of the Right Honourable the Governor General in Council in the Revenue Department, 26 Jun 1813:
- to G. [George] Dowdeswell, Chief Secretary to the Government, from M. Moore, Acting Secretary, Board of Commissioners, Furrachabad, 7 May 1813
- refers to enclosed letter, relating to local agents at Agrah, who request to be supplied with a quantity of exotic plants for the public garden in the vicinity of that city, and
- to charge that amount incurred in their transport to the public expense of the Agrah Fund
Followed by copy of letter
- to J. E. Colebrooke, Bart., and J. Deane, Esq., Board of Commissioners, Furruchabad, from A. [Alexander] Wright, Collector [of Agra], and E. W. [Edward Walter] Blunt, C. G. C. [Collector of Government Customs], Agrah, 25 May 1813
- requests permission to apply to the Superintendent of the Botanical Garden at the Presidency for supply of exotic plants for the Public Garden at Agrah, and
- to charge in a Contingency Bill the amount of Boat hire and of such other way expenses as may be incurred
In response, it was ordered that
- a copy of the above letter from the Acting Secretary, Board of Commissioners and enclosure be forwarded through the Public Department to the Superintendent of the Botanical Garden, that he may adopt the necessary measures at the proper season for supplying the local agents in Agrah with the requested quantity of plants, signed G. [George] Dowdeswell, Chief Secretary to the Government
- a copy of the above letter from the Acting Secretary, Board of Commissioners in the Ceded provinces and of its enclosures be transmitted to Mr H. T. Colebrooke, in charge of the Botanical Garden, with a request that he may adopt the necessary measures at the proper season for supplying the local agents in Agrah with the requested quantity of plants
