Letter to C. [Charles] Lushington, Secretary to Government General Department, from Superintendent Botanic Garden [Wallich], 13 Dec 1825.
Contains the following five sections:
- requests that Lushington pass on to the Government a list of books purchased by Wallich for the Botanic Garden at Calcutta, acquired since the date of the list which was originally communicated to Lushington by Wallich on 1 Oct 1823
- requests permission to pass information on to the Governor General, relating to four missing books in list of books deposited by the Government in the library of the Asiatic Society of Calcutta, now transferred to the library of the Botanic Garden at Calcutta
- refers to duplicates in the library of the Botanic Garden at Calcutta, relating to transfer of books mentioned above
- suggests to Lushington that some of these duplicates be transferred to the library of the Botanic Garden at Saharunpore [Saharanpur]
- requests that the Court of Directors pay Wallich £400, the biennial advance for the purchase of books in 1826, and the amount which was last granted in Lushington's previous letter of 12 Feb 1824 for spending 1824-1825

Letter to Wallich from Lushington:
- acknowledging receipt of letter and enclosure dated 13 Dec 1825
- Governor General is pleased to authorize transfer of duplicate books to Botanic Garden at Saharunpore [Saharanpur]
- the Accountant General will be authorized to pay £400 advance for 1826-1827 for the purchase of works on botanic subjects
It is ordered that the appropriate instructions be issued to the Accountant General, and that the requisite information be sent to the Civil Auditor and Sub-Treasurer respectively.
