The collection includes a copy of the Emigration letter received from India, No.50 of 1874, dated 20 November 1874. Also includes a report by J S Wooldridge, British Vice-Consul in Cayenne, on the mortality among the Indian immigrants in French Guiana during the half year ending 30th June 1874, together with an "Arrêté", dated 13th June 1874, appointing a special Inspector of Immigrants, and containing laws more favourable to the labourers' condition in the colony.
