The collection consists of the Public letter received from India, No.95 of 1872, dated 13 December 1872; and a copy of the Despatch, No.46 of 1873, dated 24 April 1873. The Public letter (No.95) from the Government of India details the work carried out by that Government and by the Record Committee towards preserving in an accessible and convenient shape such of the records of Government as were deemed of interest and importance.
