The collection includes a copy of the Public letter received from India, No.85 of 1872, dated 3 October 1872; and a copy of the Public letter received from India, No.15 of 1873, dated 14 March 1873. The Collection contains details of the cases of the thirteen civil patients: John William Whiteside, John Stephen, James Higby, Charles Agabeg Spain, John Roberts alias Higgins, William Davey, Thomas Hefferman, William Henry Wright, John Byrne, Annie Scott, Sarah Ann Mackenzie, James Isbister and Wallace James Harding. The military insane patient was Private J Cronan of Her Majesty's 72nd Foot and the three seamen were Edward Moore, Giovanni Calluce and P Insalman.
