The collection includes a copy of the Department of Revenue, Agriculture and Commerce (Land Revenue and Settlements) letter received from India, No.7 of 1872, dated 29 March 1872. Also includes a copy of a Special Narrative No.2 of 1872 from the Government of Bengal, together with a copy of a memorial therein enclosed from the British Indian Association against Act X of 1871 of the Bengal Council (An Act to provide for local rating for the construction and maintenance of roads and other means of communication).
This collection also contains No.3598 on the assent of the Bengal Local Taxation Bill given by the Viceroy on 12th August 1871, and memorials against the Bill from the British Indian Association and the Bengal Coal Company Ltd. It includes a copy of the Department of Agriculture, Revenue, and Commerce (Land Revenue and Settlement) letter received from India, No.8 of 1871, dated 31 August 1871.
