Astrological prognostications by Johannes Lichtenberger (b. 1440, d. 1503), German mathematician and astrologer to emperor Frederick III, incipit: 'Pronosticatio latina anno lxxxviii ad magnam conjunctionem Saturni et Iovis...' The Pronosticatio in latino was first published in 1488 (see Pronosticatio in Latino by John Lichtenberger: A reproduction of the first edition (printed at Strasburg, 1488), ed. by W. H. Rylands (Manchester: Holbein Society 1890).
Decoration:
22 drawings in brown ink relating to the contents of the Pronosticatio in latino, probably copied from a printed edition.
f. 86r: God the Father blessing Ptolemy, Aristotle, Sibilla, Brigida, and Reynhardus, all inscribed with their names below.
f. 90r: A cleric praying to God the Father.
f. 91r: A man holding a bull by its horns and a man with a sickle and a scorpion.
f. 93r: Christ as Salvator Mundi addressing a pope and an emperor, with two peasants working. The adjacent text reads: 'Salvator dicens summo pontifici. Tu supplex ora. Imperatori. Tu protege rustico. Tuque labora'.
f. 93v: A pope with two cardinals, with an adjacent text reading 'Summus pontifex cum cardinalibus'.
f. 94r: A church floating on the water, with an adjacent text reading, 'Ecclesia in navi remis inclinata fluctuante.'
f. 94v: Adam and Eve holding a church building, with an adjacent text reading 'Adam et Eva ut provaricatores significant ecclesia'.
f. 96r: Saint Bridget holding a book.
f. 96v: Christ addressing a Roman king.
f. 98v: An eagle and a crane, with an adjacent text reading, 'Acquila tristis cum modicie pennulis et pullus cum ea'.
f. 99r: An eagle, a crane, and a wolf sitting under a tree, with an adjacent text reading, 'Lupus aperto ore fugat aquillam et pullus sub arbore in terra sedet tristis.'
f. 99v: A woman holding a star, with an adjacent text reading, 'Mulier pepulo pendenti super terram habens stellam in manu sinistra indicat cum digito dicens.'
f. 100v: The massacre of the innocents.
f. 102r: Seven prince-electors and an eagle sitting at the edge of a ship, with an adjacent text reading, 'Septem principes electorescirca aquilam stantem supra navem quasi submersam.'

f. 108v: Two bishops holding a crosier with a bear and a wolf. The adjacent text reads 'Episcopi Trevirensis et Coloniensis habent baculum in manibus quem et aperte videntur ursus niger and lupus griseus.'
f. 109v: Three bishops preaching to the people, with an adjacent text reading, 'Tres episcopi confirmati a papa infulati predicant populis.'
f. 110r: A monk being disciplined, with an adjacent text reading, 'Monachus percutit alumi monachum disciplicam dando.'
f. 129v: A prophet.
f. 130r: A nativity scene, with an adjacent text reading, 'Nativitas novi prophete.'
