The collection includes a copy of the Public letter received from India, No.48 of 1870, dated 26 April 1870; and contains details of the cases of the four patients: John Ford, H S Eldred, James Madden, and Mrs Jessie Augustine.
Also included is the Articles of Agreement made and entered into between W Quine, the master or commander of the Portia, and the Secretary of State for India, dated 21st March 1870.
