C. IGOR STRAVINSKY: ‘Etude pour orchestre’ (‘Madrid’, the fourth of the ‘Quatre études pour orchestre’); circa 1928. Copyist’s score in pencil, probably in the hand of Catherine Stravinsky, annotated partly in autograph. Signed by the composer, ff. 31, 32, and dated ‘1917-1928’. The annotations mainly consist of corrections of the copyist’s errors. Some of these corrections were not incorporated into either of the published scores. Orchestrated from the ‘Etude for Pianola’ (1917). Published Paris: Edition russe de musique, [1930] and subsequently revised in 1952 (revised score published Boosey & Hawkes, 1971). Purchased by Tyson from Hollyman & Treacher.
