The collection includes a copy of the following Public letters received from India:
- No.21 of 1868, dated 5 February 1868
- No.45 of 1868, dated 14 March 1868
Also included in the collection is correspondence regarding the power delegated temporarily to the Lieutenant Governor of Bengal to relax the Rule laid down in Notification No.348, dated 24th January 1868, so as to admit the proportion of thirty-three and a third women emigrating with every hundred men, or 25% on the total number of emigrants.
