Medical compendium; imperfect. Incipit: '[T]indscnum ar tus do frenísis ocus adeir gailen cofuiled da hearnuil uirre', explicit: 'o tréighinus fada no o folmugad follus ele amail ata', occasionally introduced by a title in Latin and followed by the catchword 'flux'.
The text relates to variuos ailments and mainly derives from the Irish translations of two anonymous Latin commentaries on the Megategni of Galen and on the Colliget of Averroe respectively found in Dublin, National Library of Ireland, MS. G 11 (ff. 213r-232r, 251r-268r), and Dublin, Trinity College, MS. 1436 (ff. 256r-294r). The ailments discussed include nervous inflammations (frenesis), paralysis, spasmus, emegrania, partial blindness (scotomia), epilepsy, lethargy, apoplexy, quinsy, asthma, pleurisy, tremor cordis, and hiccups.
Also included:
f. 23r, lower margin: Recipes for preserving appearance of youth (four lines); incipit: 'Et do connmail na hoigi ar neach .i.e. min ponaire do cumusc ar fín finn'.
