For the Irish translation, see Wulff 1929. For John of Gaddesden, see R. Sharpe, A Handlist of the Latin Writers of Great Britain and Ireland before 1540 (Turnhout, 1997; Publications of the Journal of Medieval Latin, 1), pp. 252-53; Oxford Dictionary of National Biography; and M. H. Green, 'John of Gaddesden', in Medieval Science, Technology, and Medicine. An Encyclopedia, ed. T. Glick, S. J. Livesey and F. Wallis (New York and London, 2005), p. 288. For copies of the original Latin text of the Rosa Anglica, see Additional MS 33996 (ff. 148r-210v; imperfect), and Sloane MSS 134 (ff. 48r-169r), 280 (ff. 9r-262r), 1067 (ff. 1r-280v) and 1612 (ff. 125r-340v). Also includes obits of the Desmond Fitzgeralds on f. 57, ending with Gerald Fitzgerald, 15th earl of Desmond, 1583 (ff. 57r-57v), and obits of the Barrys, ending with James Barry, 1609 (f. 57v).
