Thomas Fayreford, Medical commonplace book; Thomas Fayreford's autograph. The compendium includes material from Roger de Baron's Practica (Rogerina Magna), such as de Baron's opening lines at the beginning. Rubric 'Ffayreforde [in gold] De capite', incipit: 'Sicut ab antiquis habemus auctoribus et eorum communis / ratio docet si dolor capitis'. For table of contents see f. 12r. The text includes circa 155 recipes in Middle English, listed in L. E. Voigts and P. D. Kurtz, Scientific and Medical Writings in Old and Middle English: An Electronic Reference, CD-ROM, 2nd edn (Ann Arbor, MI, 2006), no. 5384.00, and charms listed in Olsan 2003, pp. 365-366. Listed in L. Thorndike and P.
