75. Notes concerning part of his landed property, fo. 95, 96. These two leaves were found in the present manuscript, but seem not to have originally belonged to it.
With this manuscript has been since deposited another small quarto volume, purchased at Mr. Gough's sale in 1810, on account of its connexion with the present. Of this the following is a description.
An Almanack, for the year 1463. Written on vellum. It belonged to Sir Wm. Cecill, who, with his own hand, has written on some of the margins these memorandums relating to his family. "22 [Feb.] A. 1543, Mortua est Maria Cecilia." "Ao D. 1541, Vent in comeatu apud Grayes In." This belongs to the 6 May. "1542, Natus homas Cecill." This to the 1 May. "viii Aug. ao 1541, duxi in uxore Maria Cheke." "13 [Sept.] Ao 1521. 13 H. 8. Hoc die natus su W. Cecyll ao Dni" This memorandum should seem, on a first view, to determine a doubtful entry in the other manuscript, where he has twice entered his birth; and yet in that manuscript he must certainly mean to say he was born in 1520; for he also states that in 1541 he was twentyone years old, and in 1542 twenty-two; both which declarations make him born in 1520. He appears to have first entered his nativity under the year 1521. and then to have altered it to 1520. "21 [Dec.] 1545. duxi in uxore Mildre Coqua." This MS. seems to have belonged to Sir John Cheke who has entered the date of his birth on 16 June, [1514].
