The collection contains reports of the Local Governments and Administrations, together with a Resolution of the Government of India, dated 25th June 1867, regarding a uniform system of weights and measures for British India, and the appointment of the Central Committee; and a memorandum by Colonel R Strachey, President of the Committee appointed by the Government of India, on proposals relating to the introduction of new standards of weight and measures in British India, dated Simla, 1st October 1867.
