Theophilus Protospatharius, De urinis. The Latin translation of the treatise on urines composed by the Byzantine physician Theophilos Protospatharios (7th century), and translated from Greek into Latin around 1100. Title 'Incipit liber urinarum a voce Theophili editus', incipit: 'Be [sic] urinarum differentia negotium multi veteres medicorum', explicit: 'et differentias convenienter exposuimus'. With added paragraph 'Puelle virgines faciunt urinam … et crassa et lucida'. With glosses. For the text see L. Thorndike and P. Kibre, Catalogue of Incipits of Medieval Scientific Writings in Latin, The Mediaeval Academy of America Publication, 29 (London, 1963; with supplements in 1965 and 1968), p. 371a; its electronic edition (Ann Arbor, MI, 2000), no. 371A.
