Binding: 18th century, gold tooled russian leather.
Scribe (vol. I ff 2r-160v, 163v-165v; vol. II ff 1r-11v, 12v-13r, 15r-24r, 25r-174v, 176r-179r) ᾽Ιωάννης Φιλάγριος (colophon, vol. II f. 179r; inscription vol. I f 2r; Repertorium 1A, no. 187).
Decoration: Brown headpieces with geometric or braided decoration (ff 10v, 19r, 61v, 66v, 70r, 108r, 136r, 137v, 140v, 145r). Simple red headpiece (f 168r). Large and small brown initials, some decorated with foliate forms (two in or with red, ff 102v, 168r). Brown knots.

Table of contents (vol. II, ff 174v-175r) and profuse 17th century annotations added throughout.
Emmanouel Kallonas (second half of the 17th century inscription, vol. I, f 1r).
Partial Greek inscription dated 2 March 1681 (vol. I, f 1r).
Richard Mead (b. 1673, d. 1754), physician and collector of books and art: bequeathed to Askew.
Anthony Askew (bap. 1722, d. 1774), physician and book collector: his sale, 7 March 1785, lot 566, bought by Hayes.
Charles Burney (b. 1757, d. 1817), D.D., classical scholar.
Acquired by the British Museum as part of Burney’s library from his son Charles Parr Burney in 1818.
