[pp 2334-2336] Letter from Dr William Roxburgh to Major General Medows, dated 10th July 1790, transmitting papers containing a description and drawing of a tree, the leaves of which yields a very beautiful indigo, for forwarding along with a sample of the indigo to the Court of Directors of the East India Company.
[pp 2336-2338] Letter from Colonel Robert Kyd to Dr William Roxburgh, dated Calcutta 22nd June 1790, giving his opinion on a specimen of indigo obtained from a newly discovered plant which Roxburgh had sent to him. He also comments on the process for extracting the dye, and the distribution of seeds from the plant among the Collectors of the Provinces of their Western Frontiers and its cultivation in the Company's Gardens.
[pp 2338-2347] A Botanical Description and Drawing of a new species of Nerium (Rosebay) with the process for extracting from its leaves a very beautiful Indigo, addressed to the Hon'ble Court of Directors of the East India Company by their most obedient humble servant, William Roxburgh. (The drawing is not present).
[p 2347] Ordered that copies of the papers with the drawing and sample of the Nerium Indigo be forwarded to the Court of Directors by the Company's ship Houghton.
