Letter dated 19 October 1847 from J. Scott, Secretary of the Medical Board, Bombay, to the Governor in Council informing him of the result of trials of Sarsaparilla [bramble] grown in India supplied by Surgeon Gibson and contrasting it with that grown in England. References Report of the Medical Board No. 1052, 24 July included in a letter from the Governor of 16 July.

Letter dated 30 October 1847 from J.G. Lumsden [possibly John Lumsdaine], Acting Secretary to Government, to E.H. Townsend, Revenue Commissioner, asking him to pass to Dr Gibson a copy of a letter (original No. 1416 and copied as 5531). References a letter from Mr Secretary Escombe (No. 2179).
