Proverbial and moral verses transcribed from the walls and ceilings of Percy's houses, Leconfield and Wressel castles, two Yorkshire seats of the family (see Dickens 1955).
- The proverbis of the garett over the bayne at Kekingfelde' (sic); incipit: 'The sermountynge pleasure who can expresse' (f. 195v);
- 'The proverbis in the garet at the new lodge in the parke of Lekingfelde'; incipit: 'When the philosophers Putagoras and Tuball' (f. 198)
- Emblem of a man (Christ?) wearing a crown of flames and holding an orb marked 'Sol' in the centre of a radiating Tudor Rose inscribed with verses 'Ex paterno trono radii splendoris / ex matre candor virginii decoris / ex patre flos rubi coloris / ex utroque redemptio nostri amoris', and tears dropping onto an eye weeping onto a word 'cor', with the Percy badge of a crescent, and a scroll bearing an inscription reading, 'I receyue noo lighte but of thy bearmes bright. The light / benevoulent causith cor to relent for remembrynge / thy goodenes contenuall which remanith perpetuall / Cor cannot but of duti he muste distill yet he saith dutie / cannot recompence a cordinge too his goode will' (f. 200r).
