[Refers to Dalhousie's letter of 18 April 1851]; Ellenborough achieved nothing by his motion on Punjab booty, but his intervention on Indian Marriage Bill more successful; has refused Napier's request for copy of Dalhousie's last minute on him, but if he gets motion made in Parliament he shall have both that and Wellington's memorandum; Dalhousie's sharp language in response to despatch of 15 May 1850 from Court regarding allowances of Dr Walker in Nizam's service; Lahore jewels attract more attention than anything else in Great Exhibition; Queen has asked whether they were intended for her – Broughton replied they were part of Lahore treasure and would be sold; has acceded to friendly motion from Lord Wharncliffe (Secretary to Board of Control 1830) for papers on Indian public works.
