- Lutyens and Baker have been to see Crewe, and Lutyens also brought some pictures from Crewe to see; Crewe's address to the Edinburgh Philosophical Institution on Scotsmen in India went off well; he is in talks with Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Secretary) and Sir Arthur Nicolson (Ambassador to Russia 1905-10, Permanent Under-Secretary, Foreign Office 1910-16) about Tibet; is glad to hear the Maharaja of Nabha has been wheeled into line; the Maharaja is seen by some in England as a model of a liberal Ruler; Mohamed Ali and Wazir Hasan persistent in pressing for an interview with Crewe; one of Crewe's staff has received a letter from the Aga Khan, which is full of sympathy and regard for Mohamed Ali.
