The collection includes a copy of the following Public letters received from India:
- No.60 of 1862, dated 30 July 1862
- No.63 of 1862, dated 6 October 1862
Also included is a report, dated 16th October 1861, by Dr Payne, Medical Superintendent, Emigration to Mauritius, on the management and dieting of Emigrants during the voyage from the East to the West Indies. The correspondence also concerns the issue of supplying Emigrant vessels with water.
