The collection includes a copy of the Public letter received from India, No.98 of 1861, dated 31 December 1861.
Also contained within the papers are:
- Correspondence on the question of whether the operations of the Meriah Agency may be placed directly under the supervision of the Madras Government, and in such case whether the Agency should be continued as an independent Department or made subordinate to the Agent of Ganjam
- Extracts from the Diary of the Assistant Agent, Hill Tracts of Orissa, from 9th February to 2nd March 1855, detailing the number of sacrifices and the manner in which they were performed
- Estimates for the Establishment of Constabulary Force in the District of Vizagapatam, and an estimate for the Police Force required for fully occupying the Zemindari of Jeypore
- Estimates for the Constabulary of the District of Ganjam, with remarks on the subject of the Sibandi Corps and on the Village Police generally
