Minute by the Governor General of India [Marquess of Dalhousie], 29 May 1851, approving the establishment of an Agri-Horticultural Society at Lahore in the Punjab and the dedication of a public garden for the Society’s use, and approving a monthly donation of 200 rupees to further its aims, on condition that the Society’s activities cover the whole of the Punjab and not only Lahore. Does not approve request for free postage within India for post addressed to the Society. Enclosing copy-letter from Henry Cope, Secretary of Agri-Horticultural Society, to Secretary of the Government of India, making these requests of the Governor General. 19 May 1851.
