The collection consists of the following small collections of papers:

• Coll 1, Correspondence regarding the Native doctor for the new Dispensary at Goordaspore [Gurdaspur], September 1858 to January 1859.
• Coll 2, Correspondence regarding the medical treatment of the patients in the Leper Asylum at Dharmsala, September to December 1858. The correspondence includes a report on the history, condition and future prospects of the Asylum by Major Edward Lake, Commissioner and Superintendent, dated 4th December 1858.
• Coll 3, Report by the Officiating Surgeon to the Rajputana Agency on the Dispensaries in Rajputana, with the Annual Return showing the number of pauper sick treated in the Agency Hospital and the Rajah's Dispensaries from 1st July 1857 to 30th June 1858.
• Coll 4, Report by Dr Chisholm, Residency Surgeon at Indore, on the Malwa Dispensaries for the year 1858, dated 4th February 1859, with related correspondence.
• Coll 5, Report of the Examiners of the Hyderabad Residency Medical School, dated 13th January 1859, with related correspondence. Also included is a list of the more important questions proposed by the Examiners at the final examination of the Senior Class of students; Syllabuses of the courses of instruction given at the School; and the Proceedings of the 16th March 1859, the day on which the final certificates were presented, including the report of the Hyderabad Medical School read on that day, an English translation of the Address delivered to the passed students, and tables giving the names of past and present students.
