The collection contains a copy of the Home Department letter received from India, No.96 of 1860, dated 5 September 1860; the report on the Dacca Insane Asylum for the year ending 31st December 1859 by A Simpson, Civil Surgeon at Dacca, dated 11th February 1860; and related correspondence.
The report contains a tabulated statement of the casualty list and post mortem examinations for 1859 giving details of the patients who had died during the year.
