Preliminary report by J Broughton, Government Quinologist, on his examination of the various products of the Government Chinchona Plantation. Supports the value of the mossing process introduced by William McIvor. 12 Apr 1867. Report by J E Howard, FLS, to Secretary of State for India, on the chinchona bark received from India. 28 Aug 1867. Letter from Government of Madras to Government of India, 23 May 1867, forwarding bark for Mr Howard’s analysis and also forwarding three cases of bark for the experiment of treating chinchona trees as coppice wood.
