The collection consists of the following small collections of papers, each of which has a title page and an extract from the Narrative, dated 26th May 1860:
- Coll 1, Monthly Returns of patients in the lunatic asylum at Bhowanipore for the months of December 1858, and January and February 1860
- Coll 2, 2nd Half-yearly Return of patients confined in the hospital at Dullunda for the year 1859, with a table showing the expenditure in the hospital and a Return of the servants attached to the Institution
- Coll 3, Names of those appointed Members of Committees of Charitable Dispensaries and Hospitals at Chittagong and Noakolly [Noakhali] during the 1st Quarter of 1860
- Coll 4, Papers regarding the employment of the insane patients of the Dacca Asylum in the cultivation and manufacture of Jute, December 1859 to May 1860
- Coll 5, Report by Dr Sutherland, Civil Assistant Surgeon of Patna, on the progress made in manufactures by the patients confined in the Insane Asylum at Patna, dated 13th December 1859
- Coll 6, Correspondence regarding the grant of 48 rupees per mensem as the salary of the Native doctor attached to the charitable dispensary and hospital at Bauleah [Rampur Boalia], October 1859 to May 1860
- Coll 7, Correspondence regarding the payment of an additional rent of 15 rupees per mensem for the house engaged for the accommodation of sick Chaukidars of the Calcutta Police, November 1859 to May 1860
- Coll 8, Correspondence regarding a proposition for the establishment of a charitable dispensary at Maldah, March 1859 to May 1860. The correspondence includes a copy of Regulations for the Admission and Examination of Cadets for the Junior or Infantry Department of the Royal Indian Military College [Addiscombe] and for their instruction and training in that Institution, dated 9th March 1859.
