- Scope & Content:
- Report on affairs between Muscat and Bahrain. Hamerton states that Mahamed, son of Abdallah bin Ahmed, arrived from Damaum [Dammām], soliciting aid or countenance from the Imam of Muscat, for his 'intended operations' against Shaikh Mahamed bin Khuleefa [Muḥammad bin Khalīfah], ruler of Bahrain. The request, reports Hamerton, has been refused by the Imam of Muscat, Sa‘id bin Sulṭān al-Sa‘id, and he knows of no plans against Bahrain by the Imam, despite reports being widely circulated.
