The covering letter encloses a letter from W Balhetchet, Secretary, to Francis Warden, Chief Secretary to Government, dated 19 April 1821. In his letter Balhetchet acknowledges receipt of Warden's letter no.420, dated 18 April 1821, and informs Warden of the Bombay Government's arrangements for a force to be sent to the Persian Gulf as soon as is possible.
The dates on both letters are probably incorrect, being written as 1821 rather than 1820.
