Pou Nyer and Nya Nyer (Grand parents of Luang Prabang) and their lovely son named SingTo (lion).Historically, Pou Nyer and Nya Nyer called Pou Sangkasa and Nya Sangkasi or Phikhonh, they were people from the God. They arrived to the earth as the request of Pou Talok and Pou Talao to cut the big long creeper. The creeper linked from the earth to the sky and its leaves stood against the sun light and darken the earth. This creeper called Kheua Khao Kath which was grown up in the place where is called the lake of Nong Oula Hong Hai close to Ta Saeng Sam Meun, the village of Pou Talok who had 29 children, and Pou Talao had 20 chidren. Pou Nyer and Nya Nyer agreed to cut the creeper, eventhough they themselves would be died. They told people to call them "Nyer" when they died, so all the word and expression have "Nyer" at the end.During the Lao New Year in Luang Prabang, Pou Nyer Nya Nyer and their lovely son dance in the processions and washing Prabang Buddha statue. The model portraits of Pou Nyer Nya Nyer and Sing To are kept in their hall at Vat Aham.
