Phra Khou Leuam Pasanno (1897-1973), Abbot of Vat Nyai Sayaphoum, Kaysone Phomviharn District, Savannakhet Province. Photograph taken in 1940s.Phra Khou Leuam Pasanno was born on 4th March, 1897 at Ban Kaengkok, Champhone District, Savannakhet Province. He is a son of Mr. Kham and Mrs. Lot. He was ordained to be a novice at the age of 14 at Vat Ketumatikaram Kaengkok, Champhone District, Savannakhet Province in 1911. He was ordained to be a monk in 1916 at Vat Ketumatikaram, Phra Nya Than Mon of Vat Ketumatikaram is his preceptor, Phra Khou Phin of Vat Ketumatikaram is the right-hand prayer and Phra Khou Houm of Vat Ketumatikaram is the left-hand prayer. He was nominated to be Phra Louk Keo Leuam Pasanna Mahathera, one in five of the Sanghamontee (the chief monk of Buddhist Sangha) and a chief monk of Buddhist Education Council in 1954. He was nominated to be Chao Rajahana Khua (the right-hand of the high ecclesiastical rank in the religious hierarchy) of Buddhist Education Council in 1955. He passed away at the age of 76 on 23rd March, 1973. Cremation on 25th February, 1975 at Vat Nyai Sayaphoum.
