Consists of correspondence on the following subjects:
- Extract from a letter from the Revenue Department, Bombay, regarding complaints made by certain Native merchants of Bombay relating to frauds committed in the packing of cotton for shipment from the northern ports to Bombay.
- Affording facilities and encouragement to the ryots to engage in the cultivation of the superior species of cotton, and to prepare it so that it may meet with a ready demand for exportation.
- Opinion of A N Shaw, Collector of Dharwar, on the proposed establishment of an agency for the purchase of exotic cotton produced in the districts of the Southern Mahratta Country.
- Report by W R Mercer, Superintendent of Cotton Experiments in the Southern Mahratta Country, on the operations of the farm under his superintendence for the month of March 1844 (includes the Koosighul Farm diary for March 1844).
