The letter is informing the Resident of the details of a British force heading to the Persian Gulf from Bombay for the purpose of suppressing piracy. It notes that the force will rendezvous at the island of Kishime [Qeshm].
The Resident is also instructed to join the expedition, so it may benefit from his knowledge of the current affairs of the region; he is informed that the HC Cruizer Ternate has been dispatched to Bushire to enable him to join the British force.
Enclosed is an extract of a letter from Francis Warden, dated 28 October 1819, which authorises the Resident to join the British expedition as mentioned above.
