This letter refers to Samuel Hennell's earlier dispatch, letter no. 57, dated 6 February 1850. It includes the following enclosures on the subject of the disposal of the slaves brought to Bushire by the Dashtee bugla [buggalow], Futh ool Kheyr:
- Translated extract of a note, dated 16 January 1850, from His Royal Highness Bahram Mirza, Prince Governor of Fars, to Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf, in which the Prince states that he has been informed that the slaves were sold in Bushire. The Prince asks Hennell to ascertain the truth of this claim.
- Translation of a note, dated 9 February 1850, from Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf, to His Royal Highness Bahram Mirza, Prince Governor of Fars, in which Hennell reports that he has made enquiries into the matter. Hennell states that the slaves in question were brought from Muscat; five of the slaves were intended for Hajee Khan, eight were reserved for the merchants in Bushire and five were for merchants in Shiraz. Hennell writes that the slaves were not bought in Bushire, but were commissioned by the aforesaid persons from Muscat and conveyed on their account to Bushire, on the Futh ool Kheyr.
