Letter regarding the death of a sailor (William Walton) on the bullfinch during a gale, and their desire to bury him on shore at Bahrein which Grant intends to approach the Sheikh for permission to do and to find a suitable plot of land once he receives approval from Pelly.
The letter also discusses Ghulan Hussein, who is insisting he is not a government agent and receives no pay as such; the usual traffic of native craft in Bahrein which appears to have been suspended; and Captain Lodder's decision to cancel shore leave in order to punish his men for their actions.
The letter also contains a pencil note from Lewis Pelly dated 24 Mar 1872
