From Zamora of the Order of Saint Dominic, Bishop of the Holy Church of Cuba, promoted to Guatemala on March 20, 1610, arriving in 1612; he governed until December, when he died after having been elected Bishop of Arequipa. He is buried in this Holy Church. Doctor Pedro Valencia Chant, from Lima, was appointed to replace him, but before coming he was promoted to Bishop of La Paz, so Don Pedro Vega Sarmiento was elected. He did not accept and so His Grace the Bishop of Nicaragua, Don Pedro Villa Real, was elected, but he died.
