Letter regarding his recent tour of Mozambique and the Comores [Comoros] and giving news of Mr Finley who has been made to resign his consulate by Earl Russell.
The letter goes on to discuss Pelly's position in Bushire, Playfair's intention to remain in Zanzibar for a few years and his hopes of eventually being posted to Baghdad.
The letter concludes by reporting on the introduction of new taxes to Zanzibar and the recent arrival of his family.
