Letter regarding Pelly's arrival in the Gulf with Pantaloon and Caromandel.
The letter describes the geographical location of the telegraph station at Gwadur, along with the number of residents in the town, the method of construction of their homes and the location of the Political Agent's house as well as current arrangements for ensuring the telegraph stations protection.
The letter goes on to discuss the latest news from Muskat, and recommending that the Government leave Muskat to settle itself, Edward Charles Ross' arrival as agent there and Pelly's wishes to have Abraham Nickson Hojel join him in Bushire, but informing Sir Bartle that Hojel's wife is the sister of Pelly's brother's wife and that he would not wish the appointment to be seen as favouritism but feels he would be a suitable person for the role. Other individuals mentioned for the role include Captain Henry Warner, who was the Commander of Berenice and William Gifford Palgrave.
The letter also reports on the death of Hajee Yacoob and his work in assisting the Sultan of Muscat in the dispute with the Wahabees [Wahhabi].
