Letter regarding a Dr I Williams who wishes to be appointed as the Assistant Surgeon at Muscat and giving his support to the application.
The letter also reiterates the request for a vessel in the Gulf that can use sails in order to save on coal.
The letter concludes by discussing a letter from Mr Alison instructing that the Bushire Residency not communicate with any Persian authorities other than the Foreign Agent and asking how he and his assistants are to undertake their work on the Persian littoral under such conditions.
