List thanking Way for his clear report regarding the Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi] Chief (Zayid bin Khalifah) and discussing affairs in Bunder Abbass [Bandar Abbas] including the Persian Government's appointment of the Naib ul Agalla as Governor, their desire for the British to protect the Gulf coast there and Sir Seymour Fitzgerald's (Viceroy of India) instructions to Pelly to mediate the Bunder Abbass arrangement.
The letter also informs Way that the Foreign Agent at Bushire has been recalled to Tehran and refers to the death of Theodore (Emperor Tewodros II of Ethiopia) and the release of British prisoners which marked the end of the Abyssinian War.
