- Scope & Content:
- The letter is an acknowledgement of receipt of Jones’s earlier letter relating to the good conduct of the Shaikh of Abu Dhabi, in relation to hostilities carried out by one of his subjects on the pearl banks. Anderson writes that the Government is satisfied with the Shaikh’s actions, and requests that Jones make a ‘slight increase’ in value to the Shaikh’s annual present from the British Government.
