The letter is a request to the Resident that he send his administration report for the administrative year ending 30 April 1857 to the Government. A note on the reverse of the letter, dated 18 September 1858, gives instructions to enclose the letter to Captain Disbrowe (Assistant to the Resident), who is requested to complete the report without delay.
