- Scope & Content:
- The letter and its enclosure relates to an incident in 1856 in which an African slave detained in Ras-ool-Khyma [Ra’s al-Khaymah] was released from slavery and sent to the Presidency in order to return to his own country. The enclosure is an extract of paragraph 8 of 1857 from despatch no.8 of 1857 (folio 213) from the Court of Directors, dated 14 January 1857, which approves of the native’s return to Zanzibar.
