The letter and enclosures relate to the capture by British naval officials of a presumably Turkish vessel found carrying twelve slaves. The enclosures are as follows:

3. Letter no.246 of 1856 (folio 286) from Jones to Captain Arnold Kemball, Political Agent in Turkish Arabia, dated 18 August 1856, with particulars and enclosures (not in the file) relating to the case for enquiry. A postscript, dated 22 August 1856, gives the name of vessel’s owner, who is stated as being from Kuwait.
