- In this letter to Commodore George Robinson, Commander of the Persian Gulf Squadron, Arnold Burrowes Kemball, Resident in the Persian Gulf encloses two letters (not included), addressed to Sheikh Sultan ben Suggur [Sulṭān bin Saqr Āl Qāsimī] and Sheikh Saeed ben Butye [Sheikh Saeed bin Buti Al Maktoum], Chiefs of Debaie [Dubai] and Rusulkhyma [Ra's al-Khaymah] respectively. Kemball requests that the letters be delivered by Lieutenant David Rose Dakers, Commander of the Tigris. Kemball further requests that the Chiefs' replies be taken to the Agent at Lingah [Bandar-e Lengeh], Moollah Ahmed, who will then forward them to Bushire.
