Letter regarding Pelly's mission in Baroda which is nearing its conclusion and giving general news from Rajpootana [Rājasthān] including an evening of dinner, dancing and theatricals; and badminton games including an event between Foreign Office employees and Rajpootana Agency officials.
The letter goes on to discuss recent appointments and departures including Ridgeway having arrived to take up a post at the Rajpootana Agency; Charles Allan Baylay and family departing for Aboo [Abu]; Charles Shuttleworth and family leaving for Erinpoorah [Erinpur]; James John Digges La Touche having gone to Dholpore on settlement duty; Mrs Edith Saunders's bout of rheumatism; Major Oliver St John being en route to Oodeypore [Udaipur] to meet Alfred Comyn Lyall; and an inspection of the site of Mayo College with a view to designing the buildings.
The top of folio eighty-six contains a separate undated note from E Repton to Pelly, apologising that the letter is difficult to read and promising to send news in a few days.
